Excellent quality parts and clear instructions. Definitely up to Roland's usual high standard.

Easy to follow install notes. However the switches need a 15mm hole and a drill bit is almost impossible to find. I had to drill at 14mm and file the hole to fit.

I built two 'Roland ready' guitars some years ago before the kit was available and had to dismantle GK2 units to fit into my guitars; so by comparison this was a doddle. However, as with all Roland products, the price is vastly inflated but as there's no alternative, what can you do? Some features on the kit are unnecessary, such as the selector switch- the synth sender has a volume control and your guitar is bound to have one so a selector is unnecessary and takes up space. The S1 button is also a waste of time as it can only be used for editing, when you'd need to be pressing buttons on the unit it drives (in my case a VG8) anyway. The mounting plate for the connector is a nasty piece of plastic and I didn't use it but altered a jack socket mounting plate which matched the rest of the hardware on my guitar. I was disappointed that the kit did not have spacer plates for the pickup which the normal GK3 does. So well done Roland for making it available but you should try harder and also reduce your prices.
