Roland TD-07KV V-Drums Electronic Drum Kit

Here’s What Roland Say:
"The TD-07KV takes the super sturdy rack, realistic feeling tom/snare pads and hi hat system from the popular TD-1DMK. Where the TD-07 differs is the crash and ride cymbal pads have been upgraded to CY-8s and the kick pad is the KD-10, which features on the TD-17 and TD-27 ranges. The TD-07 is the first kit in the range of Roland V-Drums that is compatible with the VH-10 and VH-11 Hi Hat Systems (sold separately). These are operated by an acoustic hi hat stand, meaning you are closer to the experience of playing an acoustic drum kit.

The TD-07 module is also a significant improvement on the TD-1 Module, as it now enables beginner/starter drummers to start customising and editing their own drum kits. There are numerous edits within the module, which can be seen on the LCD screen. This means you can create your ideal drum sound or try to replicate your favourite kit sounds too. The TD-07 Module has an inbuilt Audio/MIDI USB interface, allowing you to record drums with just a USB Cable (sold separately). The TD-07 is the first kit in the V-Drums range that supports Bluetooth Audio/MIDI connection to your Smart Device. You can stream audio wirelessly to the TD-07KV and play along to your favourite songs.

For Drummers that would like to import their own samples and play larger snare & tom pads, check out the Roland TD-17KV.

The Roland TD-07KV V-Drums Kit comes with a 3-year warranty on the module and 1-year on the pads/accessories when registering your product with Roland Backstage.”

Overview By GAK

The Roland TD-07KV is an all mesh Electronic V-Drums Kit, with 143 drum sounds that are all customisable. It features all mesh pads, with a PDX-8 for the snare, PDX-6A for the x3 toms, a KD-10 Kick Pad, CY-8s for the Crash and Ride cymbals and a CY-5 with an FD-1 for the hi-hat system. These all sit on the super durable MDS-COMPACT Rack, which is the same as the extremely popular TD-1DMK and TD-17 Range. The TD-07 also supports the Roland VH-10 and VH-11 Hi-Hat systems which feature on the TD-17KVX, TD-27K, TD-27KV and TD-50K V-Drum kits. You can upgrade to either the VH-10 or VH-11, allowing you to operate these hi-hat systems with an acoustic hi-hat stand, perfectly replicating the experience of playing a pair of acoustic hi-hats. you can also add 1 additional Roland Cymbal Pad, with the use of the Crash 2 cable on the loom. The CR2 cable can also be assigned to either be a Crash, Ride or Ride Bell, meaning the TD-07 is now compatible with the CY-13R and CY-15R Ride pads.

The TD-07 Module comes with 50 kits, 25 Preset and 25 User. You can use the 50 kit locations to build/customise and create your own drum kits from the 143 onboard sounds. This covers everything from acoustic drums, cymbals, electronic samples and world percussion. This means the TD-07 is ready for drummers to play in any style of music possible. Each of the individual pads can be assigned to be anything you want. If you wanted the kick to be a cowbell - it can! The Hi-Hat Control Pedal will also open/close hi-hat samples that have been assigned to other pads on the TD-07KV. This means it supports secondary hi-hat kit setups.

The TD-07 Module has some really advanced editing options, including Room Ambience, Overhead Mic Simulation, Individual Pad Transients and Individual Pad EQ. Room Ambience allows you to place the chosen kit sound to be positioned in a specific environment, like a studio, stage, theatre, stadium or rehearsal room and your drum kit will make you feel as if you were there! Overhead Mic Simulation enables TD-07 users to choose which specific set of Drum Consender Microphone are capturing the drum sound, the exact same way a producer would in a studio when recording acoustic drums. Individual Pad Transients means that drummers can change the way a specific pad reacts when sticking it, so the TD-07 will behave specifically how you want it to. Individual Pad EQ keeps the drummer in control of the overall tone of each individual drum, ensuring you have your ideal drum tone at all times. There is an extensive effects section within the TD-07, with 30 types for you to get creative with. All these settings can be easily read on the LCD Backlit screen, so you know where everything is and how you’ve set them.

The Roland TD-07KV can be your very own drum tutor, with 5 inbuilt coaching lessons. These include Time Check (easy), Time Check (hard), Quiet Count, Auto Up/Down and Change-Up. Time Check assesses how accurately you play in time to a metronome. Quiet Count gives you 3 bars of metronome and 1 silent bar, and the TD-07 will see how accurately you maintain tempo. Auto Up/Down changes the speed of the metronome whilst you are playing, testing your listening skills. Change-Up is a rhythmic exercise, covering all the rhythmic divisions within a bar.

The TD-07 seamlessly integrates with your studio set up, as it has a built-in USB MIDI/Audio interface. This means the TD-07KV can be used as a MIDI Controller to your favourite drum plugins are on your chosen DAW or you can recording the audio of the kit sound you have made within the TD-07 module itself. There is a mini-jack Mix Input if you would like to connect your media player to the module to play along to your favourite songs. However, what is even better, is that the TD-07 supports Bluetooth Audio/MIDI, enabling you to stream audio to the module from your Smart Device wirelessly.

Overview By Roland

The Next Step in Your Electronic Drumming Journey

Conveniently compact and ideal for drumming at home, the TD-07KV V-Drums kit delivers the superior expression and playability of high-end V-Drums in an affordable package. Roland’s original ultra-quiet, double-ply mesh heads feature across the snare and tom pads, while large crash and ride pads and a dedicated kick pad with realistic, satisfying pedal feel round out the kit. The TD-07KV also lets you explore creative opportunities that go far beyond any acoustic kit, with deep editing tools to craft custom sounds, onboard Bluetooth to play along with music tracks and lessons, USB to connect with computer recording software, and much more.

Genuine V-Drums Performance

Over two-plus decades, Roland V-Drums have established a well-earned reputation as the most realistic, best playing, and best sounding electronic drums available, bar none. Laying the path for all electronic drums sets that have followed, V-Drums are often imitated, but never equalled or bettered. The TD-07KV fully embodies this proud legacy, bringing you the finest electronic drumming experience available in its class.

Exceptional Sound

The heart of any great electronic drum set is a powerful, capable, and speedy sound module—and the TD-07 fully meets these demands. At your command are acoustic drums and percussion captured in precise detail in pro studios, brought to life with advanced V-Drums technologies that make them behave just like their acoustic counterparts as you play them. There’s a wide range of electronic percussion as well, plus the ability to personalize each and every sound to your liking.

Play Right Away—or Dive Deeper

The TD-07 is filled with inspiring, ready-to-play preset kits for instant gratification right out of the box. And when you’re ready for deeper exploration, a massive drum library awaits. Switch out one snare for another, mix up the toms, go large on the kick drum, and swap heavy for light crashes and rides. Then tune the drums, add damping, and change the ambient environment at will. For the finishing touch, use the module’s individual EQs to shape the drums to perfection—just as a pro sound engineer would do.

Truly Quiet Drums

One of the main advantages of choosing electronic drums for home playing is that they’re much quieter than acoustic drums. But not all electronic kits are created equal, and the amount of physical noise they generate can vary greatly. Backed by decades of R&D, the TD-07KV is purpose-designed to be much quieter than other e-kits. Mesh heads minimize pad noise without compromising stick rebound, and special damping in the kick pad reduces noise and vibration while retaining a satisfying, natural feel. Even the stand components are designed to reduce vibration and noise transfer to the floor, and Roland offers a range of optional solutions to further reduce noise if needed.

Real Acoustic Sound and Response

While some electronic kits promise “acoustic sound,” they actually just offer static drum tones that are triggered at varying levels, depending on how hard the pads are played. In stark contrast, V-Drums produce a rich array of tone colours, providing an inspiring musical experience that feels like playing acoustic drums. Thanks to advanced precision sensors, the TD-07KV’s drum and cymbal pads detect every hit, stoke, roll, flam, and ghost note perfectly, and even cymbal chokes can be performed organically. Faster than you can blink, this information is processed by the sound module so that that exact correct tone is heard. You won’t notice any of this technology at work—but when you close your eyes and start drumming with the TD-07KV, you’ll know that it feels just right.

Authentic Roland Mesh-Head Pads

In 1997, Roland introduced the world’s first mesh drumhead to universal acclaim, and they’ve been the de facto standard ever since. Born of years of development, our unique double-layer mesh design offers natural stick resistance and rebound that feels very close to playing an acoustic drumhead, plus adjustable tension that lets you fine-tune the feel using a standard drum key. Single-ply mesh heads used on other electronic drums are not made of the same material, so they don’t feel as good to play. They can also provide less accurate sensing, resulting in poor dynamic response and mis-triggering. The TD-07KV comes supplied with authentic Roland mesh-head snare and tom pads as standard, giving you the most accurate playing feel and sensing available.

Strong and Stable Hardware

When you’re drumming in full swing, there’s nothing more frustrating than a stand that feels unstable or a drum that starts to move away as you play it. Built with strong materials and quality components, the TD-07KV’s hardware delivers the rock-solid stability you need. The custom drum stand provides a firm, steady foundation, while precision clamps tightly hold all components in place. Carrying on the rugged durability that V-Drums are famous for, the TD-07KV is ready to stand up to years of heavy playing, day after day.

Play Along with Music Over Bluetooth

Drumming with favourite tracks is one of the most fun and productive things you can do with an electronic kit, and the TD-07KV makes it easy. Thanks to onboard Bluetooth, you can call up tracks on your smartphone, tablet, or computer and wirelessly hear the audio through the module right alongside the drums. Video sound is transmitted too, perfect for playing along with online songs and lesson content. And if you don’t have a Bluetooth device, you can bring in stereo sound with a cable. MIDI transmission over Bluetooth is also supported, allowing you to record MIDI data in music apps cable-free.

Connectivity with Music Software via USB

A huge benefit of electronic drums is direct communication with modern music production software. The TD-07 module is an audio/MIDI recording interface in itself, with the ability to send stereo sound and MIDI data to a Mac or Windows computer via a single USB cable. This lets you record discrete audio and MIDI drum tracks in any DAW, or trigger sounds in software-based drum instruments for studio or live playing.
