Roland V-Drums represent everything from the best value to the most professional electronic drum kits and modules available on the market today. With over 10 full kits available in a massive range of formats they have something available for every type of player. Thinking about taking up drums, and want something to practice on at home without breaking the bank, then Roland have you covered. Need something lightweight and portable, or maybe something that you can easily pack down and store, Roland have you covered. Looking for a kit to take on tour with a rugged build to survive the rigour of the road, Roland have you covered. Looking for the ultimate recording kit, with flawless acoustic kit simulation, infinite banks of sounds, and market-leading technology, Roland have you covered.

The best thing about Roland's huge range of Electronic Drum Kits is that each one can be expanded in some way, so if you find yourself needing an extra cymbal or tom, or if you decide to upgrade your kit to a mesh headed snare for improved response, then Roland has options for you.

The kits themselves move up in tiers starting with the TD-1K and moving right up to the TD-50KV. Each kit is available in a K and KV format. The KV format of each kit features a few upgrades from it's K series counterpart. Thanks to Roland's incredible supernatural sample quality, and high build quality of the kits, even their TD-1K is more than suitable for professional use, though there are obvious feature upgrades to each kit.

Below is a list of bestsellers from Roland's V-Drum range. Each kit is listed to explain it's advantages and area of expertise.

TD-1K / TD-1KV

The Roland TD-1K is the introductory kit to the V-Drums Range. The snare and x3 toms all have Roland's durable rubber finish, which is widely regarded as the most realistic and durable rubber pad on the market. The rack is super compact and very durable. It is the ideal kit to fit in the corner of a bedroom, squeeze into student accommodation or tight studio spaces. Better still, there is room to accommodate and expand the kit, with the addition of one more cymbal pad, with the purchase of a OP-TD1C Cymbal Set. The TD-1 module is packed full of features, including 15 drum kits (covering all the most popular genres), 10 coaching lessons and 15 internal songs to play along to. You can connect a media player to the Aux In to play along to your favourite songs, plus it can connect via USB to communicate via MIDI to trigger external sounds on computer software.

The latency of the kit is the same as the Roland TD-50, which is the lowest on any electronic kit at a measly 2.6ms. This means that when you hit a pad, there is no delay from hearing it in your headphones. The 15 kits cover everything from Jazz to Rock to Latin and even EDM and Hip Hop music. The sounds are extremely dynamic and responsive, meaning it behaves just like an acoustic drum kit. You can buzz roll, cymbal swell, choke the cymbal pads and splash the hi-hat pedal, so it is suitable for all levels of drummer. For users wanting a more acoustic-like drum feel, the ability to space out the pads the same as an acoustic, a more durable rack and a more realistic kick drum pad, check out the TD-1DMK.

TD-1DMK

The Roland TD-1DMK is the first kit in the V-Drums Range that comes with all mesh pads. The snare and x3 toms all have Roland's unique weave and double-ply head, which is widely regarded as the most realistic and durable mesh head on the market. The rack is the same that features on the TD-17 Range, so you know that you are getting a durable, sturdy and high-quality frame to mount your drums off. Better still, there is room to accommodate and expand the kit, with the addition of one more Cymbal Pad. There is even enough space on the rack to have your pads positioned in the same spacing as an acoustic, but maintaining a smaller footprint for your home.
