Restringing with flats has given me a smoother tone with virtually no string-noise.

Very smooth surface strings. Virtually no finger noise. Fitted on an acoustic bass because it emphasised finger-string noise. Very mellow tone, smooth, warm, rounded sound especially noticeable on the thinner D & G strings. Slightly less volume than 'standard' strings. Pleasant on your finger tips, very playable. No use if you are after some treble 'twang'.
