Sell It. Trade It. Upgrade It.
Use the instruments you currently own to save money on upgrading to your dream rig.
So you want to sell your gear, but can’t think of the best way to do so? You’ve trawled through eBay to try and find an evaluation, perhaps even tried Gumtree?
Why not remove all of the stress of dealing with time wasters asking annoying questions in your inbox and arranging collections with people who never show up by selling your unwanted musical instruments to GAK.
Whether you are looking to Trade-In an instrument to soften the blow of purchasing a new item, need a quick cash injection with a Buy-In or you have something really special and require access to our extensive customer-base with a Commission Sale, here at GAK we are heartset on helping you get your hands on your dream instruments.
There are a whole host of reasons to use GAK as a reliable and hassle-free solution to selling on your unwanted gear.
We buy in a whole host of products including:
One of the worst parts about privately selling your second hand instruments is having to deal with the logistics that go along with a sale. Whether you are left measuring the exact size of your Stratocaster’s nut, engaging in a price war with ruthless hagglers or receiving calls from unknown numbers where people overshare how much they love music when all you want is some quick cash.
At GAK, we can take all of the pain points of selling privately away, with three easy options:
Trade-It - This allows you to exchange the equipment you already own towards purchasing something new. One of our Second Hand Experts will evaluate your items and discount the Trade-In value of your items from your new order, saving you money! This is the most affordable way to purchase a new item!
Sell-It - Want to save the hassle of trying to sell your instrument yourself? Simply fill out the form below and one of our Second Hand Experts will assess your items and get back to you with a fair percentage of the current market value as a lump sum!
Commission Sale - This is an option that is exclusively for rare, vintage and collectable items. Perhaps you just want to dip your toe in the water to gauge interest or you need our help to market the item to our extensive customer-base? We will agree a fair selling price with you, place the item in a prime position in our flagship store, as well as provide a premium online listing on our website. We will then negotiate a reasonable commission and pay you once the item has sold. There is no commitment with this option, you can back out at any time and the item remains your property until sold.
If we come to an agreement on one of the above options we will then provide a shipping address so you can send the item down to us (or bring it into our Brighton store) and once all information is confirmed we will make payment or ship the upgraded item as required.
To kick start the process of selling us your gear, contact us for a quick valuation. Simply fill in the form below, call us on 01273 665425 or email our Secondhand team at [email protected] and once you have submitted your form, a member of our team will respond to you within 24 hours with a quote.
All bought in items are rigorously tested and their condition will affect your valuation.
Due to hygiene reasons, we are unable to Trade-In or purchase Microphones, Headphones or Brass/Wind Instruments. We also do not take in Orchestral Instruments, Organs or Acoustic Pianos.
Whether you contact us via email, over the phone or walk into our Brighton store, you will deal directly with our incredibly knowledgeable and friendly Secondhand Specialists. Our Secondhand team have decades of experience in trading used, pre owned or secondhand equipment and you count on them for a fair and honest opinion.
Maybe you have a collection of pedals, guitars or an entire rig you no longer need? When selling your gear to GAK, you don’t have to look for multiple buyers, we’ll take it all.
Perhaps you have your eye on a new piece of equipment or haven’t saved quite enough to buy your ideal upgrade? When making a purchase with GAK, you can use the gear you already own as currency towards your new item(s). Follow the same steps as above to receive your valuation and you can use the amount towards your new basket.
If you are unable to drop off your unwanted gear at our Brighton shop, we offer a free collection service* that covers the whole of the UK. To arrange, simply mention it to whichever member of our Secondhand team is dealing with your enquiry and they will set it up for you.
