Squier Bullet Stratocaster Hardtail HSS Black Overview

The Squier Bullet Stratocaster Hardtail HSS is a simple, affordable guitar that’s great for beginners and students, giving you a classic Strat sound and style at an affordable price. It’s a perfect choice for a first guitar no matter who you are or what style of music you want to play. Featuring the classic features that made the Strat one of the world’s favourite guitars, the Bullet Strat HT is a great introduction to the Fender family.

Features include a lightweight body and comfortable ‘C’-shaped maple neck, making it even easier for new guitar players to start learning. For pickups, the single-coils give a bright, clear sound - the one at the neck position being great for playing lead, while the middle pickup packs your riffs with plenty of punch without sounding too sharp. The bridge position delivers thick, powerful tones, so combined you get a versatile guitar with a range of tones available at a great price.

There’s also the hardtail bridge giving you increased tuning stability, so you don’t need to worry as much about keeping your strings in tune as developing your skills during long practice sessions.

Available in Arctic White and Black

What’s the difference between this and other brand guitars?

The Squier brand is the entry-level for the brand Fender, possibly the most iconic electric guitar brand in the world. The Stratocaster shape is available from Fender from entry-level all the way up to collector level and is the choice of many professionals and guitar heroes like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton & Dave Gilmour.

If you want to upgrade, consider the Squier Affinity series, which uses an alder body and higher quality pickups. It’s still an entry-level guitar that’s good for beginners, just a slightly higher price point.

You can also upgrade to a pack that includes an Affinity Series HSS Stratocaster, Fender Frontman 15G Amp, gigbag, strap, cable, and picks - everything you need to get started.

What is a Hardtail?

It’s a version of the Stratocaster without a tremolo arm, which alters the pitch using a bar. The hardtail bridge increases tuning stability, so you don’t need to worry about re-tuning your strings when you’d rather just practice.

What is HSS?

HSS is the pickup configuration or the “microphones” that pick up the movement of the strings.

HSS means Humbucker, Single Coil, Single Coil. Humbucker means the pickup is quieter and more powerful, whereas single coils are valued for their clarity and expression.

Overview by Squier

Designed for players seeking an affordable, stylish and versatile instrument, the Bullet® Stratocaster® HT HSS sports the classic looks and tone that made the Strat® one of the most popular guitars of all time. Highlights include a thin and lightweight body, an easy-to-play “C”-shaped neck profile, a humbucking bridge and single-coil neck and middle pickups with five-way switching for sonic variety, and a hardtail bridge for reliable tuning stability.

The comfortable “C”-shaped neck profile of this instrument (the shape of the neck in cross-section) is sculpted to impart a vintage-style playing feel. The most prevalent neck profile shape, it’s remarkably comfortable and is ideal for all playing styles.

This model features a hardtail bridge engineered for enhanced tuning stability and sustain. This design element also hearkens back to the early- to mid-'70s.

For fat, warm tone with balanced sound, this instrument features a humbucking pickup in the bridge position.

Great value for money. We got it for my friends birthday and she absolutely loves it. Nice and lightweight and would definitely recommend.
