Squier Standard Stratocaster Maple, Antique Burst Overview

Squier Standard Stratocaster Antique Burst, Tortoise Pickguard, Maple Overview by GAK

The Squier® Standard Stratocaster® is a great playing guitar with a traditional vibe, slick style and modern feel. Player-friendly features like a 22-fret fingerboard and a slimmer neck make for smoother playing and choke-free bends. Alnico single-coil pickups provide plenty of punchy, rocking power.

Featuring a Maple neck with "C"-shaped profile and “large” headstock, 22-fret maple fingerboard, Three single-coil Stratocaster pickups with five-way switching, Two-point synchronized tremolo with block saddles.

This Stratocaster model has an extended fingerboard with 22 frets instead of the standard 21 frets.

An iron alloy, alnico magnets contribute to warm, balanced vintage-style tone.

The comfortable "C"-shaped neck profile of this instrument (the shape of the neck in cross section) is sculpted to impart a vintage-style playing feel. The most prevalent neck profile shape, it’s remarkably comfortable and is ideal for all playing styles.

Bought this as a present for my grandson. Made in Indonesia, looks well made, good setup.

A really great instrument at a ridiculous low price. A champagne instrument for lemonade money. Well done to Squire.

This is a great guitar and excellent value for money. Good finish and worked perfectly straight out of the box - no issues with electronics and no marks/dings on the body. The only small issue I noticed was a harsh 'scratchy' sound when bending strings (coming from the sound of the string scraping on the frets). After a quick browse online it seems this is an issue with all Squier Stratocasters and is only a temporary thing - the guitar basically needs 'broken in' (played a lot) and this will go away. A lubricant product like 'Fast Fret' works very well to speed this process up, and as always with any new guitar its a good idea to replace the factory strings with a fresh set. I've had the guitar exactly one week now and it sounds great, very smooth and the scratching sound has disappeared. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful new guitar without the larger price tag attached to a Fender.
