Steinberger Spirit GT-PRO Deluxe Outfit, Frost Blue Overview

Steinberger Spirit GT-PRO Deluxe Overview by GAK:

Nothing looks like a Steinberger and nothing performs like one either! The Spirit GT-Pro guitar features the same distinctive body-shape as the award-winning Steinberger GL Series and features the trademark "headless" design with the patented Double-Ball tuning system. Add to that, a 3-piece hard Maple neck going completely through the body reinforced with an adjustable truss rod and this guitar is extremely stable.

Steinberger necks provide players slightly extended spacing at the upper frets and can maintain incredibly accurate intonation under intense shredding. With no headstock, the GT-PRO has a Zero Nut Fret with a width of 1.625 that moves up to 2.04” at the 12th fret as the neck subtly widens to 0.42” string spacing at the bridge. The bridge has steel saddles with Steinberger’s patented R-Trem™ Locking Tremolo and 40:1 Ratio Direct-Pull tuning systems. Unlocked, the R-Trem is capable of extreme dive-bombing as well as pull-ups. Locked, the R-Trem acts like a fixed bridge. Since there is no headstock, the weight of the GT-PRO feels more balanced than a typical guitar. Fine tuning adjustments are made at the bridge and string changes can be made fast! The Steinberger GT-PRO is set up at the factory with Steinberger DoubleBall™ 10-46 strings. Plus, with the Single Ball string adopter, you can set also set up the GT-PRO with regular strings.

The Steinberger GT-PRO is powered by Steinberger’s versatile humbucker pickups in the neck (HB-2) and bridge (HB-1) positions along with full-range Steinberger SC-1 single coil pick up in the middle position. Controls include Master Volume, Master Control, and a 5-way pickup selector. There's also a folding leg rest for playing comfort while sitting. And the GT-Pro is perhaps the world's most "travel-friendly" and convenient guitar ever made. It comes complete with a gigbag and, despite having a full 25.5" scale length is only 30" in length and even fits in most airplane overhead luggage compartments. If you're on a budget but still need and want an instrument with Steinberger features and performance, the Spirit GT-Pro is perfect for you.

Pretty amazing little instrument. Feels great to play and the lack of weight makes it feel like a real extension of the players body. The neck feels a little bulky and doesn't have a bolt on neck, which I personally prefer, so that's something the player will need to either adjust for in their playing or get extensive work done on modifying. There's also limited gauges of strings for the double ball design, and the double ball strings themselves are much more expensive and harder to get a hold of than normal single ball strings. String adapters can be bought but require installation, something you'd probably feel more comfortable getting a guitar tech to sort whilst you take it in for a set up. Overall I love this instrument for its ease to travel with, hardy design (hardly ever goes out of tune), weightless feel that integrates seamlessly with the players body. I bought it purely for the functionality but fell in love with its intuitive design and would highly recommend to anyone looking to loose the extra weight on their instrument for longevity whilst playing and a much more travel friendly instrument.

The guitar is beautiful and sophisticated. Light enough to throw around with one hand, deployable leg rest to play sitting down, and gets an amazing tone. My friends are very jealous.

Cracking little guitar - well made and excellent value for money! Might treat myself to the bass version next...

This guitar needs a proper professional set up and stretching of strings before it is truly playable. However, for the money, it's a lot of bang for your buck!

Really unusual guitar, great retro look, sounds great. maybe not the best pick ups I have heard but for the money a great addition to my collection.
