Steinberger Spirit GT-PRO Deluxe, White Overview

Steinberger Spirit GT-PRO Deluxe Overview by GAK:

Nothing looks like a Steinberger and nothing performs like one either! The Spirit GT-Pro guitar features the same distinctive body-shape as the award-winning Steinberger GL Series and features the trademark "headless" design with the patented Double-Ball tuning system. Add to that, a 3-piece hard Maple neck going completely through the body reinforced with an adjustable truss rod and this guitar is extremely stable.

Other features include the patented locking R-Trem system with direct-pull, 40:1 ratio machine heads, three (humbucker- single - humbucker) Steinberger pickups and folding leg rest for playing comfort while sitting. And the GT-Pro is perhaps the world's most "travel-friendly" and convenient guitar ever made. It comes complete with a gigbag and, being only 30" in length, fits anywhere including most airplane overhead luggage compartments. If you're on a budget but still need and want an instrument with Steinberger features and performance, the Spirit GT-Pro is perfect for you. Steinberger- State of the Instrument.

Could easily been a 5 for the price. Bridge string heights not set (were in a straight! line and not following the fingerboard curvature). Intonation not set. Middle pickup screws chewed up; replaced these and found the holes were tilted, in the wrong place and not deep enough. Pickup heights not set. Tuners extremely stiff and in need of lubrication. All sorted and It is a keeper. The white finish is really well done and it looks great. Just disappointing that it needed more work than I normally see on a new instrument.

Think beyond 50s and 60s authentic reissues, this is aa 80s design classic! And it’s also a super compact size, perfect for travelling with!

Hit and miss on QC, I’ve already reviewed. Previous production line (korea made) are a lot better. Don’t mind if the price are around £500 to keep the quality to previous standard. It’s good that they still use their TM bridge which is among the best headless system on the market. Size is perfect for little kids, for me it’s fine but I’m a big headless fan any good quality headless is great, so cannot give an opinion on that. Great product but need a proper set-up, not ready to use out of the box. It can if you are lucky ,but again a wee bit hit and miss.

Great guitar, plays fantastic straight out of the box, good variety of tones and a great neck
