Vintage V6SSB, Sunset Sunburst

With a traditionally styled Eastyern Poplar body, a balanced set of three Wilkinson WVS vintage-voiced Alnico V pickups, and a Wilkinson WVC vibrato bridge, the Vintage V6SSB in Sunset Sunburst is every inch a masterpiece of detail and playability.

The WVS pickups feature staggered, chamfered edge pole pieces for that authentic stone-free tone and power, while the reverse wound, reverse polarity centre pickup provides hum cancelling in switch positions 2 and 4. A positive location, 6 screw trem and bridge design, with ‘push-in’ variable tension delrin-bushed arm, provides an accurate return to pitch; perpendicular bend, high grade steel saddles enhance tonality and ‘snap’, and a ground base plate corner provides authentic looks.

Comfort, speed, and sheer playability are provided by way of a Classic Vintage ‘soft C’ profile Maple neck, and a 10" radius Lignum Rosa™ fingerboard ensures outstanding tonal transfer, responsiveness and durability. Medium profile frets add to the comfort, accuracy and overall positive feel of the Vintage V6, while the addition of a Graphite top nut, and Wilkinson WJ55 E-Z-Lok locking tuners ensure constant and stable tuning; staggered string posts, a feature usually only seen on higher priced instruments, provide the ideal string rake angle for smooth vibrato action and correct playing tension.

The V6™ is an original Vintage® ReIssued Series guitar, designed and created by Trev Wilkinson and the UK Vintage design team.

What Vintage say:

The Vintage ReIssued Series V6SSB combines the very best of time-served aesthetics and forward-thinking design ingenuity. A trio of Wilkinson WVS Alnico V pickups give the guitar the perfect balance between scorching highs, rich mids and plummy low end, just what you'd expect from a guitar of this nature. The Wilkinson vibrato bridge, meanwhile, features an innovative stagger-drilled block which radically improves the guitar's intonation, whilst maintaining incredible return-to-pitch accuracy.

Whether you're searching for your first guitar or your last, every member of the Vintage ReIssued Series is a keeper. Play on.

If you get a good one - then it is an excellent guitar. Sounds great, lovely neck for my hands, good hardware for the price point but I have had two that I have had issues with that have been returned - awaiting a third to hopefully enjoy..hence 4 stars That being said, the shop that sold the original guitar and the UK distributor have been providing solid support but how much easier (and cheaper) it would be for all if more quality control was applied to reduce dealing with 'failure demand.'
