Walrus Audio Iron Horse V2 LM308 Distortion Pedal Overview

The Walrus Audio Iron Horse V2 LM308 Distortion Pedal is a versatile distortion pedal with a wide range of distortion tones: from thick and punchy distortion to riffy and brutal. The Iron Horse V2 is based on the popular LM308 chip that is also used in the renowned RAT pedals.

The Iron Horse V2 has three different distortion modes that are operated by a 3-way toggle switch which changes between different clipping diodes and can be used to set the amount of compression. Simple toggle left to get a bit of compression, toggle right to get more compression, and leaving it in the middle position delivers a wide-open, non-compressed signal. The Level, Tone, and Distortion controls let you easily shape your sound.

Walrus Audio Iron Horse V2 LM308 Distortion Pedal updates include:

  • An updated Level control that makes it easier to dial in unity gain

  • Updated Tone control to let you dial in more treble

  • An updated Distortion control to smooth out the range of distortion so it’s easier to dial in low gain tones.

The Walrus Audio Iron Horse V2 is full of high gain and is ideal for rock guitarists who want thick rhythm tones, blistering solos that cut through the mix, or a thick, warm overdrive from dialling back the gain.

The Walrus Audio Iron Horse V2 LM308 Distortion Pedal has a bold Galaxy Gold finish with black ink artwork by illustrator Adam Forster that features a battle-ready stallion cloaked in armour.

The Iron Horse V2 is incredibly flexible and offers sounds that every rock and metal fan will like, from mild distortion, to on the edge of breakup, to super-compressed - it covers pretty much any distortion sound you could want. As far as distortion effects pedals go, the Walrus Audio Iron Horse V2 LM308 Distortion Pedal is a worthy addition to your pedalboard.

Uses a 9v power supply (not included). Walrus Audio doesn’t recommend daisy chain power supplies.
