Beautiful, Transparent Tone
Crafted with all-solid Rosewood/Mahogany back and sides and a hand-selected premium Engelmann Spruce top, the LL16M delivers a beautiful, transparent tone that is perfect for chord-based styles, band work, vocal accompaniment, and flatpicking. The guitar’s Yamaha original bracing pattern and A.R.E. treatment create a rich warmth and open resonance while maintaining excellent tone balance. In addition, the comfortable neck profile and Yamaha’s Zero Impact pickup ensure a stress-free performance on stage.
Modern Design with a Classic Feel
Featuring a modified non-scalloped bracing design that retains the L series’ characteristic bright tone while enhancing the low-end tone, the LL16M offers a modern design with a classic feel. The reevaluation of string spacing, string height, fingerboard binding, and neck taper led to a new neck shape that better fits today’s traditional players. This new design offers a stable grip and smooth playability over the full length of the neck, making it easier to play for longer periods of time.
Stable and Durable
The LL16M’s new 5-ply neck design is constructed of rosewood and mahogany plies, which integrate the neck, head, and body into a single unit creating a powerful, rich sound. This approach also creates a strong, stable neck that resists twisting and warping, making it durable and reliable.
LL Body
The traditional Yamaha LL body style is known for its rich volume, wide dynamic range, and excellent tonal balance. This body style couples power and projection with clarity and openness across the frequency range and significantly less “boomy” bass response than a traditional dreadnought body. The LL body was a development of the FG-modified dreadnought shape introduced by Yamaha in 1966.
