Yamaha P-45 Digital Piano
Easily our best selling digital piano, the Yamaha P45 is an outstanding digital piano for the money. Offering you the responsive, authentic feel of an acoustic piano, the P45 compares in both sound and playability with many of the more expensive alternatives in the digital piano range.
The P45 is the entry-level piano of this range, with its compact size, affordability and 88 keys, it’s great for beginners who want to get stuck in and learn on a good-quality instrument. The P45 has an 88-key Graded Hammer Standard keyboard, which lets you enjoy the natural feel of an acoustic piano, with matte black key tops (to prevent your fingers from slipping) and a slick black casing.
The P45 has 10 different instrument sounds - 2 Grand Pianos, 2 electric pianos, 2 pipe organs, 2 harpsichords, strings, and vibraphone, which is enough to satisfy a beginner, and still covers the basic sounds that every player might use. It uses AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) stereo sampling, which is where digital technology is used to record a specific sound numerous times with different playing strengths, with high-quality digital filters applied after. This means it sounds more like an acoustic piano, effectively imitating how the keys sound different depending on how hard they are pressed. You can also choose from 4 different reverbs - Room, Hall 1, Hall 2, and Stage, for which you can also adjust the depth.
The P45 is a great option for students, teachers, beginners, and children. The two 6W amplifiers mean it’s loud enough to practice in a small room, but not for live gigs with other instruments, or in larger rooms.
The Yamaha P45 comes with a music rest, footswitch and a 12V mains power supply.
Fancy an upgrade? The Yamaha P121 has a Pure CF Sound Engine, 24 Voices, 21 demo songs and 50 piano songs, and two additional 4cm, speakers

Authentic to the touch
Yamaha’s GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) weighted action has heavier touch in the low end and lighter touch in the high end, just like the hammers inside an acoustic piano. Great for the aspiring pianist, practising on the GHS action builds the proper finger technique for when the time comes to perform on an acoustic piano. Plus the matte finish of the black keys are less slippery when playing for extended periods of time.
Tried and true, Yamaha’s classic sound engine for realistic tone
AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) sampling uses digital technology to record the sound of an acoustic piano. AWM Stereo Sampling creates a deeper, richer and more spacious sound by using pairs of waveforms (L and R) captured with two microphones. The Yamaha P45 uses AWM to play one sample per key at varying levels of volume and timbre.
A compact and lightweight design makes it easy to get around
Slim and stylish form with a depth of fewer than 12 inches, the P-45 requires little space. At only 25 lbs. with a built-in sound system, it can be easily moved anywhere in your home or even used for performance outside.
GAK Notes - The Yamaha P45 is compact enough for small apartments, flats or bedrooms and it's very light for a fully weighted digital piano. The keyboard has built-in speakers so you don’t need to connect it to external amplification. The compact design and lightweight body make this an ideal piano for transporting to gigs or piano lessons.
Simple, single-button operation
Various P-45 settings can be changed with a single button. Hold down the “GRAND PIANO/FUNCTION” button and press the keyboard to change Voices, play demo sources, configure the metronome and more.
