This unit may be 11 years old since it was released but is a must have for guitarist. You literally have a multitrack studio in your pocket, and it is a great practice tool as it has several in built tracks you can learn then play along to. It also has several COSM effects built in taken straight from the Boss GT multi effects foot pedals. If WiFi, Bluetooth and colour touch screen which is more common on equipment made today is not a problem for you then you can't go wrong with this unit. It can be connected to a computer and upload Wav Files to any DAW of your choice. I should have bought this years ago.

Seems to have a load of excellent effects plus drum patterns. I've only givin it 4 stars as it seems so difficult to learn how to operate it but I'm sure I'll get there in the end ! Initially I did think shout returning it as it scrambled my head but I looked up instruction videos on YouTube and made a little progress. Should really come with dc power instead as having to order as an option I think.

Awesome item however, this is a typical BOSS tech, the screen layout is basic and dot matrix like an item from the 1980s. The processor is slow, laggy and not as snappy and responsive as one would expect. The build quality feels nice, but is actually very cheap. The frame is plastic and uses thin aluminium tin covers which actually just cover a plastic case. The jog wheel is NOT smooth to turn, it is grainy to turn, flimsy, buttons are hard to press especially if you have large fingers. The unit takes a full size SD card however, it does work with a Micro to full SD card converter. It comes as standard with an 8GB SD card which has the factory eband songs/data on it. When you put in a new SD Card, you need to download the SD data from BOSS website and copy the ROLAND folder over to the SD Card to get you eband working again. Big downside is that if you want to use NIMH rechargeable AA cells in it, you can not charge the batteries from the USB or DC power input. This device lacks a lot of modern features you would assume it should include. All this said the unit has a very small guitar effects COSM processor, very little features as a guitar processor however, it does enable a double AA battery guitar practice and recording device you can put in your pocket and go. I use it with headphones or a mobile Bluetooth speaker using the AUX 3.5 mm jack(this device is NOT Bluetooth enabled, which is a shame). It also uses 1970s input gain and volume control potentiometers, which are awkward to adjust when you have your plectrum and guitar in hand. Is it worth the money, NO as in today's day there are a lot of basic features which this item just does not have and makes your guitar experience a real headache in today's life when it really does not need to be. Simple things like Bluetooth, ability to charge NIMH AA batteries and feather touch buttons or digital control for the input gain and output volume. The hardware potentiometers are hard to adjust when you need to with guitar in hand, plectrum in hand etc. All in all, this unit enables something that previously was not possible, but clearly it is a device that requires you to be fiddling with it to get it right. It causes a hindrance to our playing more than a benefit however, for basic on the go easy practising without having to carry amps and excessive kit around it works well.
