Since its release in 1983 the Gibson Les Paul Studio has become one of the most popular Les Paul models. Originally produced to provide a more economical, no frills alternative to the Les Paul Standard, the Gibson Les Paul Studio has since taken on its own persona and identity. Lets take a look at the 2014 Pro model.

The Gibson 2014 Les Paul Studio Pro has a mahogany body which has undergone "Modern" weight relief. This basically means the body has been chambered to achieve a lighter, more comfortable strapped on feel without any compromise on the traditional Les Paul shape and styling. Add to this a Grade AA carved maple top and you have the basis for a great looking and sounding guitar.

The glued in mahogany neck has the '60s slim taper design which gives the Gibson 2014 Les Paul Studio Pro a fast and reassuringly solid feel. Whether you are a lead or rhythm player you will find this guitar gives you added confidence when tackling complex licks or tricky chord changes.

The Gibson 2014 Les Paul Studio Pro is loaded with a pair of Gibson's legendary 57 Classic and BurstBucker Pro humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge positions respectively. These pickups are constructed using genuine Alnico magnets and are wired through the traditional arrangement of independent volume and tone controls and a three-way selector switch. The Gibson 2014 Les Paul Studio Pro has been updated with coil-split switching and Orange Drop tone capacitors, when it comes to tonal versatility you'll find it hard to beat.

The tuning system on the Gibson 2014 Les Paul Studio Pro is all pretty standard. You have a Tune-o-matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece which gives outstanding resonance and sustain plus six chrome kidney shaped tuners. All in all a simple and very efficient set-up.

A black pick guard, pickup rings and black Max Grip speed knobs complete the package.
