Korg BeatBoy Overview

The Korg BeatBoy is a super handy gadget for electric, acoustic and bass guitarists. Korg have made a veritable Swiss Army knife with the BeatBoy, it's part drum machine, part recorder and part interface. 100 different built-in beats can be set to any tempo with either the tap tempo function or the fine tuning buttons. These beats vary in style, from straight-ahead rock beats to jazz, world and dance tunes, as well as straight ahead metronome clicks. The output has three modes: clean, overdriven and distorted. You can use the built-in speaker or headphone out for silent practice.

If you want to lay down some ideas with a beat for reference, the Beat Boy lets you record up to 100 tracks/20 minutes. These can then be loaded in to your computer in WAV format to be shared with your bandmates. A loop function lets you lay down a rhythm track to then solo over, great for practice and writing. A tuner function completes the Beat Boy, making it a handy gizmo for writing and practicing. What's more, all of these functions have been put into a simple to use interface and compact design- the Beat Boy will fit in your gig bag! Runs on 2 included AA batteries.
