Drops are designed by Daniel Kushner, the founder of MONO and the industrial designer behind its award winning product line. DK brings 15 years of experience, with over 65 products launched and distributed in over 50 countries, with multiple patents awarded, and praise from the world’s most hardworking artists.
How Drops work
Drops feature an injection molded silicone tab specifically designed to grab onto any drum lug. Just press down on the little indentation to attach them, and pull up to remove them. No adhesives or moving parts.
Active gate design
Unlike adhesives, Drops vibrate with the drum head creating an active gate effect. This removes overtones while letting the natural intonation of the drums come through. To achieve this, Drops are weighted with hundreds of steel ball bearings, secured inside a die cut felt pod. A durable and effective design (patent pending).
Four different weights
From the subtle 40g pod, to the hefty 200g “wallet”, you can mix and match Drops to dial in the tone you’re looking for. Use them on snares and toms (anywhere you would use a gel).
Your new bag of tricks
Drops are designed to travel well, so you can keep an extra set in your stick bag and make any drum kit sound great. Since Drops don’t use adhesives, they won’t leave any residue.
Responsibly made
Drops are designed with consideration for the entire product lifecycle:
- Drops will be manufactured with recycled PET felt (made from water bottles), and filled with recycled steel ball bearings.
- Drops are also PVC-free, lead-free, and 100% animal-free (vegan).
- Unlike gels and other disposable products, Drops are reusable and built to last.
- Drops will be responsibly manufactured in China at a woman-owned factory, with active health and safety certifications, and where we have a 15-year working history.
- We will use minimal packaging, and recycled packaging materials where possible.
- Every pledge contributes to our mission of planting trees through our partnership with Ecologi, which will be available to all and trackable on our website after this campaign closes.
