Professional Sound For All

An essential part of any studio – whether it’s a professional one or a bedroom one – is the monitors (also known as loudspeakers). Whether you’re recording, mixing or listening back, you’re going to need to be able to hear the music. That’s where your studio monitors come in. There are so many fantastic options out there, especially if you’re new to recording. Whilst this is great, it can make it tough to pick a pair for your setup. If you’re looking for your first pair of studio monitors, the ADAM Audio T Series stands out from the pack. The award-winning T Series has received heaps of critical acclaim since its release, delivering pro-quality sound, features and performance at an affordable price. Keep reading to learn our Top 10 reasons why you need ADAM Audio’s T Series in your studio.

#1 – Multiple Sizes

The ADAM Audio T Series features three models – the T5V, the T7V and the T8V. By offering the T Series in a variety of sizes, you can choose the perfect one for your room’s size. The T5V is ideal if your home studio is on the smaller side, thanks to its compact size. The larger T7V and T8V feature a wider frequency range and are worth looking at if you have the space to accommodate them.

The T10S Subwoofer is available if you want an extended bass response and don’t have room for the T8V. Whilst the T10S works with any nearfield studio monitor, it was designed to perfectly pair with the T5V and T7V.

#2 – Budget-friendly

With three different models in the T Series, ADAM Audio cover a range of price points. No matter which model you go for, you’re guaranteed professional sound and advanced technology that you’d usually find on far more expensive monitors.

#3 – Tailor To Your Room

There’s a good chance you haven’t thought about room treatment if you’re new to recording. There’s also a possibility that you haven’t considered the best place to put your new monitors. Both of these factors can compromise how your music will sound coming through your speakers. No need to fear – ADAM Audio has got you covered.

All T Series monitors feature dip switches on the rear that help with room anomalies. For example, it’s quite common in home or project studios to have to place your monitors against a wall. This can result in low-end extension, meaning you won’t be able to make an informed decision when mixing bass. To fix this, simply adjust the Low Filter on the back to tame any unruly lows.

#4 – Legendary U-ART Tweeter

A key feature that sets all ADAM Audio T-Series studio monitors apart from the rest is the U-ART accelerated-ribbon tweeter. This innovative tweeter is a huge part of the T Series transparent, high-definition sound.

Whilst most loudspeakers use a piston-like diaphragm, the U-ART tweeter features a pleated diaphragm. This design prevents distortion by moving air four times faster than the actual folds are moving. It also extends the frequency all the way up to 25kHz. The result is stunningly detailed high-end that won’t fatigue your ears over long sessions.

The innovative U-ART tweeter delivers a superior listening “sweet spot”.

#5 – Unique Waveguide

The T-Series active studio monitor range is equipped with a unique HPS waveguide. The High-frequency Propagation System waveguide was first developed for the flagship S Series range’s S-ART tweeter. ADAM Audio used modern computer techniques to design this waveguide, which hones the speaker’s dispersion to make it more even. This greatly reduces distracting reflections from horizontal surfaces in your studio. Because the sound isn’t as affected by reflections, you’ll enjoy a more uniform stereo image and a larger “sweet spot” during playback.

About the “sweet spot”

This may all sound very technical if you’re new to this, so we’ll explain the advantages of the waveguide in a simple way. With most studio monitors, your head and ear’s relative position to them has an effect on how they’ll sound to you. A tweeter, which is responsible for high frequencies, is usually very directional. This means that depending on where your head is, your perception of the high-end and stereo field can vary.

When your head forms an equilateral triangle with your monitors and the tweeters are at ear level, you’re in the “sweet spot”. This is where you want to be to get the best listening experience from your monitors, especially when mixing. The T Series’ HPS waveguide’s precise design creates a larger “sweet spot”, meaning the audio characteristics will be more consistent across a wider range. Even at high output levels! It’s particularly handy if there’s more than one of you in a session, as you’ll all enjoy the same listening experience.

#6 – DSP-controlled Driver Crossovers

The T Series features built-in DSP-controlled driver crossovers. What do these do? First, we’ll explain what “crossover” means.

What is a crossover?

The majority of studio monitors use two, sometimes more, loudspeaker drivers. That’s because it’s practically impossible for a single driver to cover the full frequency range. Most monitors have a 2-way design, with a “woofer” handling the bass/mid frequencies and a “tweeter” responsible for the high frequencies. A “crossover” makes sure each driver receives the correct frequencies. The crossover is a pair of complementary filters – a high-pass and a low-pass. A high-pass filter reduces low-end whilst a low-pass filter tames highs. With a 2-way monitor, the high-pass filter lets only higher frequencies be sent to the tweeter. The low-pass filter allows only lower frequencies to go to the woofer. The “crossover frequency” is the point where the two filters overlap.

The advantages of ADAM Audio’s T-Series crossover

Many studio monitors use a built-in analogue crossover. As the components in an analogue crossover heat up, they start to act differently. This can change the crossover frequency, and the way your monitors sound, across the course of a recording or mixing session. Ideally, you want your studio monitors to deliver as consistent a sound as possible. If the crossover frequency moves, you won’t be able to make an informed decision when mixing your track’s mid-range.

The ADAM Audio T Series is equipped with DSP-controlled crossovers. This ensures a fixed and accurate crossover point no matter how long you’ve had them switched on for.

#7 – Class D Amplifiers

The T Series features advanced Class D amplifiers which are derived from the top-tier S Series. Class D or PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) amps deliver exceptional dynamic range and are known for their extreme efficiency. Because these amps are so efficient, they run at much lower temperatures and don’t need heat sinks. T Series monitors have a bi-amped design, meaning both the woofer and U-ART tweeter have their own Class D amp.

#8 – Flexible Inputs

ADAM Audio has catered for both DJs and producers with the T Series. The input switch on the rear of each T Series monitor lets you instantly switch between two independent setups. For example, you could have a DJ setup hooked up via RCA connectors and a music production rig connected to the XLR. When you want to switch between them, simply flick the handy input switch on the back. This saves having to plug and unplug every time you want to change.

#9 – Serious Prestige

ADAM Audio are easily one of the most highly regarded professional audio companies out there. Founded in 1999 in the city of Berlin, the German company has been developing, manufacturing and distributing some of the finest loudspeakers around. All ADAM Audio products are based on decades of innovation, technical expertise and a passion for creating top-notch equipment. The fact that renowned composers such as Yang Zhuo Xin and internationally-acclaimed producers like Carl Cox use the T Series speaks for itself. You’re in excellent company as an ADAM Audio user.

#10 – Pure Quality, No Fuss

You might be wondering how ADAM Audio managed to make the T Series so affordable. With this level of specs and sound, you’d expect them to be a lot pricier. It all comes down to the T Series’ “no-frills” approach. There are no unnecessary bells and whistles. An example is the position of the power switch. Instead of placing the power switch on the front, ADAM Audio put it on the back. This helps to bring the overall cost down. It’s simple yet effective design choices like those that make professional-quality sound available for more producers, artists and mixers.
