Behringer Product Overview
The Behringer XENYX QX1222USB is a 16-Input USB Audio Mixer with Effects 2/2-bus audio mixer with an integrated USB computer audio interface. The Behringer QX1222USB mixer allows you to mix together and shape the sound of a variety of multiple audio signals, and route the audio to several outputs. The mixer features four XENYX microphone preamps with +48V phantom power, British-style channel EQ, a 7-band graphic EQ, four easy-to-use one-knob compressors, a Klark Teknik effects engine with 32 presets, and is compatible with Behringer's 2.4 GHz wireless microphones.
It is suitable for small and medium-sized audio projects. There are two aux sends on every channel (which enable you to route individual channels to stage monitors or external effects), and two stereo aux returns. Every channel features a 3-band British-style EQ with a swept mid, which can really help you make vocals and instruments stand out in a mix. The XPQ 3D stereo surround effect allows you to make a broader stereo image.
The built-in USB interface allows for a bi-directional transfer of audio to and from your computer. The unit comes with recording, editing, and podcasting software for Mac, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
The built-in 24-bit dual-engine Klark Teknik FX effects processor features 32 presets that include reverb, chorus, flanger, delay, pitch shifter, multi-effects, and more. You can edit the parameters of every preset, and a tap tempo button is included to sync time-based effects. The four built-in compressors are designed to simplify the process of controlling dynamics in your mix. With a single knob, you can dial in the amount of compression you need for any given sound. The four XENYX preamps offer 130dB of dynamic range, and the 3-band British-style EQs allow you to finely tune your mix. The mixer is suitable for recording studios, video editing suites, live sound mixing, podcasting, and more.

We only had this for 2 weeks but we are well pleased because it's an upgrade to the old one
so far its amazing... still learning how to use the baby =]
The trouble with mixers is that the ones you own seem to be short of some feature you need for the next job. The X1222USB seems to meet most of my needs for the present and this QX1222USB acts as backup. The Q model has a few more features but it handles in a very similar manner. Its only obvious backwards step is that the output faders are not colour coded as on the X1222USB. It also lacks the ability to desk mount it - at least there were no brackets with mine - not a problem for me. The great thing compared to say the X1202 range is that most of the numerous minor niggles have been properly addressed - which is why it costs more - but the money is worth it. The X1202s have been excellent reliable basic boards the X1222s do everything better from individual mute switches for most input channels to an onboard power supply with a switch - you feel much more confident using it. Its still not perfect - but what is? and at the price it cost me, I can't grumble.
