Epiphone SG Special VE, Walnut Overview

The Epiphone SG Special VE gives you SG tone and styling and doesn't break the bank. The SG Special is the most affordable SG in the Epiphone and follows on from two of Epiphone's bestsellers. The G-400 and G-310. What the VE does to the SG Special format, is to add a subtle range of vintage worn finishes.

The SG's signature devilish double-cutaway design still reigns supreme and gives amazing access to all 22 frets. The SG Special VE features bolt-on Hard Maple, SlimTaper profile neck with Rosewood fingerboard that's a comfortable and easy to play guitar. A pair of open-coil, Humbuckers (700T and 650R) are plenty hot enough to give you enough grit and grind when you need it.

Even though the Special VE is designed to be the subtle looking and affordable SG, it still features some top-end touches. Things like Epiphone's patented LockTone locking Tune-o-matic bridge and Stop-bar tailpiece are some seriously nice additions at this sort of price. Other unseen additions that demonstrate Epiphone's attention to detail include the pots, which are full-size 500K, and Epiphone's rugged all-metal 3-way toggle pickup switch. These are designed to give you years of hassle and maintenance free playnig

Exceptional value for money. Ideal first guitar for a beginner. Good action, holds tune and plays very nicely. The walnut finish makes a nice alternative to the traditional red SG.

Great guitar for the price. Plays smoothly, had no issues with it whatsoever - also sounds really good considering its value.

Although made in China still good quality construction. Good set up straight from the box and very playable. As an entry level guitar from the Epiphone range hard to fault ! Recommended without reservation
