This gorgeous Fender Custom Shop '59 Precision Bass Relic is a custom order by one of our GAK Bass Department Staff for stock and is now in our Brighton store ready for you to come down and try!

Based on the original 1959 Model Specification of the Fender Precision where you could have Rosewood or Maple Fretboard options, this particular bass has a been crafted with a Rosewood fretboard that became the staple of Precisions and Jazz Basses to come from Fender throughout most of the 1960s. The body is finished in the now very popular "Colour over Colour" paint job that is very distinctive to Fender Custom Shop guitars in recent years, this bass has a striking Olympic White over Candy Apple Red finish with Matching Olympic White Headstock; the wear and tear on the body reveals the spectacular undercoats of red, gold and silver that really make this bass stand out from the crowd.

As expected the Quarter-Sawn Maple neck plays beautifully and although not completely stripped of lacquer on the back still feels nicely played in. The extra dark Rosewood fretboard is the icing on the cake, giving the bass that archetypal early 60s rich Precision tone that instantly recognisable as the classic Fender sound!
