Fender Custom Shop '64 Jazz Bass Relic (Chocolate 3 Tone Sunburst) Overview
This incredible bass has just arrived in stock and not only is it stunning to look at, it is also an absolute dream to play. As a prime example of the superb craftsmanship of Fender Custom Shop the darker "Chocolate 3 Tone Sunburst" is aged tastefully with lacquer cracking and wear in all the right places, this Jazz is swimming in 1960s Mojo and classic Fender style.The Quarter Sawn Maple neck feels nicely played in and is incredibly fast, coupled with the AAA extra-dark Rosewood fretboard for that buttery soft touch. There is plenty of snap and punch on the piercing bridge pick-up while still being able to smooth out the tone for that lovely responsive vintage warmth that is so archetypal of the classic Fender Jazz sound. An extra-special Custom Shop touch is the beautiful Tortoise Shell neck binding and the '60s Precision Bass Oval 'C' Neck profile which gives it that little bit more chunk and resistance while still feeling easy to play like a Jazz bass should.
