The Gibson Custom Standard Historic 1958 Les Paul was designed to be a recreation of the first incarnation of the desirable ""Burst"" guitars that are hugely rare and sought after today, with a price tag that put them way beyond the means of most. In 1958 Gibson brought together all the features that make a Les Paul the classic that it is today with Humbucker pickups, Tune-o-matic bridge, Lightly Figured Maple top and the Cherry sunburst finish that faded differently on each guitar creating a whole host of new colours over time.
Thankfully, Gibson Custom Shop have managed to bring together all the features of this historic guitar into a more affordable package in the Standard Historic 1958 Les Paul Standard. Sporting a solid one-piece Mahogany body, a lightly figured Maple top, quarter-sawn mahogany neck with a one-piece Rosewood fretboard, rounded C shape 50s profile, long neck tenon and Custom Buckers which accurately recreate the PAF's of the late 50's, Kluson Deluxe machine heads, Hot Hide-glue neck join, Historic truss rod assembly with no-tubing and accurate body and fingerboard binding with period-correct Aniline dye. If you are looking for a close representation of the original legendary 1958 Les Paul Standard but don't quite have the six-figure asking price then this is a fantastic opportunity to buy the next best thing.
