Palmer ABO Balanced Line Output Switch Overview

Palmer ABO Balanced Line Output Switch

The balanced line output switch from Palmer, is a rugged and fully featured A/B switch ideal for microphones. With a single XLR input and a pair of XLR outs, you can switch from one output to the other with a single push of a switch, allowing all kinds of flexible routing for your balanced signal.

You could use the Palmer ABO to switch live on stage between standard vocals and a vocal effect, between two different vocal effects, between two different vocal channels which can then be engineered differently or whatever your musical imagination demands. For engineers and announcers, you could switch from front-of-house talking to the audience, to monitors just to communicate with the stage. It could even be used to route a microphone signal between two zones or different rooms for announcement needs. The possibilities are almost endless.

The unit itself is made of sheet steel for strength and durability with a single, sturdy, stompbox foot-switch to control the routing. Output channel A has a single, switchable -15dB pad, while channel B has 2 stacked attenuation switches giving you -6, -15 or -21dB options, and also features a ground lift switch to help eliminate earth loop hum. The metal housing has extended edges on the top of the unit, offering both protection for the input and output connectors and also pre-drilled holes so the Palmer ABO can be mounted securely on a pedalboard, in a rack or on any flat surface. The ABO is a passive unit so doesn't need power to run, but a standard 9V PP3 battery is required in order for the output B indicator LED to function.
