I'd say this stretching the definition of gig bag to the absolute limit: it's more like a hard case. Very lightweight though, wouldn't be a problem to carry around, and excellent protection for the guitar. Only possible gripe (and it's really nitpicking) is that it's quite big to store - I have actually had smaller hard cases
