Slate Digital VerbSuite Classic Plugin Suite Overview

VerbSuite Classics is a comprehensive collection of classic digital reverb units, featuring renowned reverb algorithms that have become staples in professional audio production. Developed in partnership with LiquidSonics, VerbSuite Classics utilizes FUSION IR technology, a proprietary processing method that captures the evolving and modulating characteristics of the original hardware reverbs. In blind tests, users were unable to distinguish between the captured reverb patches and the real hardware units.

The plugin includes several legendary pro reverbs, each offering a distinct sound and sonic characteristics:

  1. FG-480: Known as the industry standard reverb, this model features unique modulation characteristics that help it cut through the mix. It remains popular among top professionals.

  2. FG-2016: Created in 1982, this American-made reverb is celebrated for its realistic recreation of natural-sounding rooms. It has been a favorite among engineers and has been used on numerous hit records.

  3. FG-250: Modeled after the first-ever digital reverb built in Germany, this reverb unit is highly regarded for its thick tone and seamless integration with source material, despite its limited memory.

  4. FG-QRS: A German-made unit from the early '80s, this reverb is transparent and known for its minimal digital artifacts. It finds particular favor on vocals but is versatile across various sources.

  5. FG-2000: This extremely rare Japanese-made reverb is highly sought after as a drum reverb. It has a unique character and is difficult to find in good condition.

  6. FG-16X: Modeled after a microprocessor-controlled digital reverb from the early ‘80s, this unit is renowned for its smooth and lush tone, famously used on Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight” drum sound.

  7. FG-6000: Representing a modern Danish digital reverb powerhouse, this unit offers realistic, smooth, and deep reverb programs suitable for small and large spaces.

Additionally, there is the FG-BM7 expansion pack, which is a model of the Bricasti M7 Fusion-IR reverb. It captures the acclaimed tone and character of the Bricasti M7, often considered one of the best-sounding digital reverbs in audio production history.

With VerbSuite Classics, you have access to a wide range of classic digital reverbs, each with its own sonic signature and applications, allowing you to add depth, space, and character to your mixes with the utmost authenticity.
