Introduced in 1962 as Fender’s new top-of-the-line offering, the Jaguar soon rode a wave of popularity as the weapon of choice for surf rock guitarists. With new features including a shorter scale length, shielded higher-output pickups and three pickup switches on the treble side, the Jaguar serves up a most distinctive look and tone.
This Fender Custom Shop '64 Jaguar has been given the Lush Closet Classic Thin Skin lacquer treatment to offer a well looked after worn in appearance. The Rift-Sawn maple neck has a comfortable '62 Jaguar “C” neck profile, topped by a 9.5”-radius Rosewood fingerboard and 22 6105 frets for a modern playing edge. Loaded into a lightweight Alder body are some shielded ’62 Jaguar pickups to help eliminate hum while still providing all the growl and chime you would expect. Other features include three-ply parchment pickguard and parchment neck binding, RSD Jaguar bridge for better tuning stability and a fuller tone, vintage-style tuning machines and a bone nut. Includes hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
