Fender Custom Shop '65 Strat Heavy Relic (Lake Placid Blue) Overview
Everybody likes a Heavy Relic. Well apart from those who like their guitars shiny but even then you can't fail to be impressed by this fantastic job by the Custom Shop! Featuring an extra-light two-piece Ash body with a what the Custom Shop spec sheet for this guitar describes as a 'real beaten' relic job!The neck is crafted from Quarter-Sawn Maple with a 9mm 'AAA' grade extra-dark Rosewood 'board. The neck profile is a Large 'C', the fingerboard radius 9.5" and frets Medium-Jumbo. Unusual little touch is Mother-of-Pearl position markers. The bone nut measures 1.65". Electronics-wise in the bridge there is a Fat 50s, middle is a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity '65 and the neck is a '60 single coil.
