After long and extensive planning & development, we are proud to present our new Shorty Violin Bass. Walter Höfner invented the legendary violin bass back in the 1950s. Since the 1980s, our “Shorty” has enjoyed great popularity, both as a guitar and as a bass. The new Shorty Violin Bass is the result of these two success stories. In the style of its legendary predecessors, it combines the charm and the solid body construction of our “Shorty” with the vintage flair of a real violin bass. The new, flatter Shorty Bass neck profile ensures optimal playability. The end result is a compact instrument with an amazingly big sound!

I am no longer a young man and i find the full scale basses to heavy so this Hofner is ideal...and it looks so very very good and plays really well....marvellous .....I owned an original in 1986 and this is actually better!

You will be surprised by the versatility using the guitar and amp tones. The neck is wider than a hofner violin . I think is nicer to play as it suits all styles of playing.

Such an awesome guitar!! I didn’t want anything huge and bulky, this Hofner is small and manageable, so comfortable, Would highly recommend!
