Boss GT-1B Bass Effects Processor Pedal Overview

Experience a whole new level of bass tone control with the Boss GT-1B bass effects processor.

This compact and durable effects processor is powered by BOSS’s flagship sound engine, which offers an expansive library of bass-optimized amps and effects for both studio and stage use. With its easy-to-use interface, you can easily dial in your desired sound, while the onboard control switch and expression pedal allow you to tweak multiple effects in real-time.

Additionally, the GT-1B can be connected to BOSS Tone Central for more patches, editing software, and other features. Portable, tough, and able to run on batteries, the GT-1B is the perfect companion for bassists on the go.

I've got both the GT-1 and the GT-1B units and they are so different. I don't know why, but I find the bass unit much easier to use. The effects shapes that you want are so much easier to dial in. Maybe it's something to do with the distortion types that each unit tries to emulate - you get loads on the GT-1 and only a few on the GT-1B. And the amp emulations too - you get maybe 1/2 - 2/3 on the bass unit. What I would say is that it is well worth spending some time doing a deep-dive of the sounds you can get out of this unit. There's not much help here, you will have to grind to get the sound you want, but it probably will be there somewhere. The Boss Tone sounds lab will only get you so far and there really aren't any shortcuts that I've found to the sort of tone I want for any specific patch. It's worth spending the time noodling around with the unit and at least you can set up a load of blank presets by whatever category you want (I set up amp emulators in 10-set batches). Would I buy it again? Yep, absolutely. If you asked me that about the GT-1, I might not be so sure.

A comprehensive tool that fits the gig bag easily. Loads of solid sounds easy to find and tweak.
