Steinberger Spirit XT-25 Standard Bass, 5 String, White Overview

Steinberger Spirit XT-25 Overview by GAK:

Nothing looks like a Steinberger and nothing performs like one either! The Spirit XT-2 is a 5-string bass featuring the same distinctive body-shape as the award-winning Steinberger XL Series and features the trademark headless neck with the patented Double-Ball tuning system. Add to that, a 3-piece hard Maple neck going completely through the body reinforced with an adjustable truss rod and this bass is extremely stable.

Other features include the patented Steinberger fixed bass bridge with direct-pull, 40:1 ratio machine heads, two (humbucker - humbucker) Steinberger bass pickups and folding leg rest for playing comfort while sitting. And the XT-2 is perhaps the world's most "travel-friendly" and convenient bass ever made. It comes complete with a gigbag and, being only 38.5" in length, it can fit in places where other basses can't! If you're on a budget but still need and want an instrument with Steinberger features and performance, the Spirit XT bass is perfect for you. Steinberger- State of the Instrument.

I got this bass specifically because it's very light, but it's also really nicely balanced and sounds great. Really solid choice for the price range and it looks cool. Very happy with my choice.

This is great bass and will be my go to instrument for some time. I have an original Steinberger XP-2 too and this compares really well. The volume pots go from nothing to full on in the last 10% of their range. I read this was an issue and was expecting it and will replace eventually - doesn't detract from playability.

I needed a Bass for traveling and this fit the bill. After adjusting the truss rod, action and intonation, I can say that this is a very good instrument for the money. Very solid and stays in tune well. Excellent fret job. On close inspection of the bodywork I noticed the routing was a bit untidy, but that is a minor niggle for the price I paid. The easiest intonation set up I've ever known. I had to make my own case because I couldn't get one anywhere. That was disappointing. Overall, an excellent instrument.
