Taylor 312ce, Second-Hand Overview

Item in good condition. Minor signs of use (small scratches or marks)

The Taylor 312ce is a Grand Concert cutaway acoustic guitar, showcasing premium features for a remarkable playing experience. It features a solid Sitka spruce top, solid Sapele back and sides, and innovative V-class bracing designed by Taylor’s Master Guitar Designer, Andy Powers. The guitar is equipped with an ES2 pickup system, offering enhanced tonal quality and responsiveness for both live performances and recording.

The Grand Concert body shape with a 24 ⅞-inch scale length is well-suited for fingerpicking, providing lower tension and balance for intricate fingerstyle maneuvers. The Sitka spruce top offers excellent volume and improves with age, while the Sapele back and sides, similar to mahogany, contribute a sweet and responsive tone with natural compression.

The tropical mahogany neck has a comfortable 1-¾-inch width and is complemented by a 20-fret West African Crelicam Ebony fretboard. This ebony comes from Taylor’s own sawmill in Cameroon, emphasizing sustainability in sourcing high-quality materials.

One of the standout features is the V-class bracing, a groundbreaking innovation by Andy Powers. This bracing design enhances volume, intonation, and note blending across the fretboard, offering a significant improvement in overall guitar performance.

The ES2 pickup system deviates from traditional under-saddle piezo systems. Placed on the side of the saddle and tensioned by adjustable hex bolts, the ES2 minimizes the negative impact of constant string tension on tone, providing a more accurate and natural amplified sound. The guitar also comes with a hardshell case for secure transportation and protection.
