The ESP Snakebyte is a tribute to the legendary frontman of Metallica and guitarist James Hetfield. This signature series embodies the original design of Hetfields’ guitar, featuring a set-neck construction at 24.75" scale, EMG JH “HET” SET pickups and a Mahogany body and neck with an Ebony fretboard.

The Signature Series Snakebyte is constructed with a Mahogany body and U-Shaped single-piece neck, ensuring the warm, punchy tones and great sustain you’d want from a JH guitar. Topped with a Macassar Ebony fretboard, the ESP Snakebyte is a workhorse guitar ready for the stage. Whether it’s shredding or playing chunky riffs, this guitar can cover almost any genre and ensures a comfortable experience when standing for hours on end. The Mahogany Neck profile guarantees a slick and fluid playing experience, while the luxurious Ebony fretboard feels smooth under the fingers. Complimented with 22 extra-jumbo frets.

The ESP Snakebyte feature James’ own EMG JH SET active pickups. The EMG JH “HET” Set is essential for replicating Hetfield's sound. The JH neck pickup creates a strong presence, while the bridge active pickup produces a ton of attack with high gain levels. These humbuckers give the guitar that amount of umph and distortion you need for rocking out.

The ESP Snakebyte includes premium components such as a bone nut, ESP Strap Locks, Sperzel locking tuners, and a TonePros locking TOM bridge and tailpiece.

A portion of the proceeds from each Snakebyte Camo goes to Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation, a non-profit, philanthropic organization dedicated to creating sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services.

The Snakebyte boasts a Camo finish inspired by a camouflage pattern by manufacturer KUIU, a design chosen by Hetfield, and a matching hardshell case included.
