Vox AC15CH Custom 15W Head Overview

Now available as a separate amplifier head, the Vox AC15CH is based on the design of the legendary AC15 combo. Since it's introduction in 1958 the Vox AC15 has become one of the most iconic amplifiers in rock. The Vox AC15CH Custom 15W Head carries the spirit of the original all-tube AC15 combo. Features include a twin channel design with both Normal and Top Boost tones, separate gain and master volume, tremelo, spring reverb and treble and bass controls. The Vox AC15CH Custom 15W Head is fitted with a Reactive Attenuator which allows the valves to be driven at lower volumes which makes the AC15CH perfect for recording and low volume playing. The AC15CH is finished in classic black vinyl and classic Vox grill cloth. The separately sold Vox V212C cabinet is the perfect match for use with the AC15CH.

Please note: The reactive attenuator does not operate at 8 ohms.

I’m really enjoying the AC15CH, it’s simple and straight forward and all of the features are really useable i.e the digital verb and tremolo. The attenuator is especially useful if you play either early morning or late at night to drop the amp down from 15 watts to a watt and a half. But I will also point out if you’re a big overdrive/ distortion pedal user, Vox amps might not be the best option for you, as their is an inherent chime to them that makes using pedal gain quite challenging to dial in, not impossible but just a bit of a hassle! So bear that in mind, if you’re thinking about picking one up. Overall I really like this amp and it’s a nice replacement for an old ac30 I’ve had forever that hasn’t been running right for a long time!
