Walrus Audio Warhorn Mid-Range Overdrive Pedal Overview

The Walrus Audio Warhorn Mid-Range Overdrive Pedal is a transparent mid-range overdrive pedal that can do everything from snappy rhythm to blazing solos. The pedal features a toggle switch that allows you to choose between two clipping styles for increased versatility - in the up position is compressed and symmetrically cut, whereas the tone in the down position is asymmetric, open, and organic. It has controls for Level and Drive as well as Bass and Treble controls to give you a lot of flexibility in modifying and customising your tone.

Here’s how the different controls work:

Level

Sets the overall output of the pedal

Drive

This control adjusts how hard your guitar signal is clipped. You can increase your sound for a smooth and melodious low gain push by turning the Drive control down and the Level control up. If you increase the gain you can get some soaring lead tones similar to SRV or Hendrix.

Bass

Controls the amount of bass frequencies that flow through the pedal. You can decrease or increase the low-end using the Bass control, so if you want to add some punch to your riffs or get some creamy leads, just twist this handy knob.

Treble

Increases or decreases the amount of treble or high frequencies that travel through the pedal. To improve clarity and presence, just turn up the Treble knob. Turn it down for a softer, less piercing high-end, or turn it past 12 o’clock to make your solos truly stand out, whether in the studio or on stage.

Compression Toggle Switch

This toggle switch lets you fine-tune your tone even more. To tighten or compress the overdriven signal for a more ‘American-style’ tone that’s great for playing leads, flick the switch up. For a more natural and open breakup that has a more British-sounding overdrive, flick it down.

The Warhorn has a prismatic gold enclosure with white, cream and black ink artwork that features a warrior on the front lines brandishing an intricate battle horn leading his army in a victorious battle. It uses a 9v power supply (not included).
