The Yamaha THR5 Modelling Guitar Amp is the little brother of the THR10, with the same great quality but in a more portable form. The THR5 has a few different electric guitar channels, offering five realistic, built-in amp sounds and a USB interface.

The Yamaha THR5A Acoustic Guitar Amp is optimised to work with electric-acoustic guitars, with realistic microphone modelling, and built-in effects that enhance the acoustic sound.

Overview by Yamaha

The 30-watt Yamaha THR30II Wireless amplifier brings realistic tube-amp tones and feel to your desktop—and beyond. Yamaha originated the “desktop amplifier” category and the THR30II Wireless takes the concept to new heights. New amp models for electric guitar and bass, mic models for acoustic-electrics, and flat voicings for everything else let you cover any genre. And it’s fully wireless. Play wherever your music takes you with Bluetooth support, a Line 6 wireless receiver, a built-in rechargeable battery, and stereo line outputs for additional flexibility. A redesigned enclosure with increased bass response and a refreshed look that complements any décor complete the package.

The sound says it all

Yamaha’s sound design team leveraged everything we know about guitar amp construction, physical modeling, and high-fidelity audio to create the THR series: the most authentic-sounding, versatile desktop amps in the world. Offering massive tone in a compact size, the sound of THR has to be heard to be believed.

VCM Technology: Yamaha’s patented Virtual Circuitry Modeling (VCM) technology simulates each circuit down to the component level, capturing subtleties that typical digital simulations cannot even approach. VCM models the interactions between each component, delivering truly musical performance virtually indistinguishable from the classic analog gear that remains sought after even today.

Hi-Fi Audio Technology: The THR guitar amps were developed with Yamaha’s award-winning AV division to offer true hi-fi stereo sound and ultimately a new experience in guitar amplifiers. The exclusive, specially-designed speaker enclosure is optimized to handle both guitar and audio playback sound making the THR uniquely capable of giving you amazing tone for both your guitar and your favorite music from a compact, portable amp.

Extended Stereo Technology: THR incorporates Yamaha’s new Extended Stereo Technology to create an incredibly wide, spacious stereo audio image. Stereo tracks and studio-quality reverb combine to add a depth to your sound that belies such a small enclosure.

Effects: THR features dual circuits providing natural, ultra-musical effects. One circuit handles stompbox-style modulation effects while the other provides outstanding studio-grade delays and reverbs. With the THR Editor software, both effects processors can be edited remotely.

That sound in your head? We’ve got it: Three banks of amp models offer everything from shimmering cleans through bluesy overdrive and crushing high-gain. Each bank also features a unique bass amp model, mic model for electric-acoustics, and flat mode without any modeling, for anything else you might want to connect.

Look the part: The versatile sound and capabilities of THR amplifiers are reflected in an appearance inspired by decades of iconic amplifiers. Every detail of the design has been meticulously considered, for a form and style that fit perfectly wherever you play.

An amazing desktop amp - packed with features - big price tag, but you won’t look back. Really gives the beef and chunky tone I am looking for and lovely clean tone also. Great effects

I have a Marshall 1974x that I have not touched since I bought this THR30II. There is no real comparison but this Yamaha is so addictive. Clean tones are superb the crunch channel in classic mode is a my fave. The onboard effects are really good. I just shelled out e few Bob on a thorny flanger and this has a perfectly good flanger built in. The hall reverb is beyond good. In summary rock tones are good but cleans/crunch are fantastic. I trusted other reviews of this amp against things like positive grid/katana etc but this just hits the spot. I love playing the slow Peter Green blues stuff it’s perfect. It’s not a one trick pony it has loads of nice tones perfect for home use at friendly volumes than the Marshall 18 watt. Highly recommend.
